Small Group Pilates Classes Brisbane Southside.
Pilates takes its name from it's inventor - German born Joseph Pilates. During World War I, Joseph was interned and worked as a nurse. By attaching springs to hospital beds he enabled his patients to gain strength even when bed bound. This was the origin of what we now call the Pilates reformer - one of the many pieces of equipment that we use here at Articulate Physiotherapy! From these roots, Joseph then continued to refine his movement method. He added more equipment, opened the very first Pilates studio in America, became loved by ballerina's, dancers and athlete's worldwide
New to Pilates?
If you're anything like us when you first thought about doing Pilates you might find it all a little intimidating! The scary equipment with springs and straps can look a little like torture equipment, but it's definitely nothing to be scared of! Contrary to how it looks, the Pilates machinery actually helps you to be precise, safe and gentle in your movements, and is totally customised to your strength, flexibility and level of fitness!
Our teachers are all highly qualified and will guide you through each exercise. You don't need to know anything at all - you just need to show up and be willing to try!
What makes the Pilates at Articulate different?
Even though we're a Physiotherapy clinic, our classes aren't just for people with injuries. We think that Pilates is perfect for anyone looking to become stronger, healthier and wanting to move and feel better! Our small class sizes mean that you get the individual attention you need to stay incredibly safe, and help to work at the level you're at. We have much more than just reformers too - which means that you'll be able to use incredible equipment that many other studios don't have! This is a more authentic Pilates experience but with the highest quality teachers in Brisbane - our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists are experts in movement (and in Pilates!) and happen to be super nice humans to boot!
How do I start?
You can check out our Tarragindi Pilates Clinic Timetable and Passes via the link below, or give us a call on 07 3706 3407 or email [email protected] to find out more!
Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need - we're all here to help!
